We’ve arrived at the end.

I just finished my Best of 2016 list. (At the bottom.) And I'd just like to say: you can’t fill the New Year with more love & genius if you can’t really say what worked for you in the old year. You have to know what works. When you know what works, every year gets better.

I want to help you home in on what felt true & best in your personal 2016. Here are 6 Qs to A before midnight. At the bottom, I'll also share some of my sweetest highlights from the year & my favorite HellaNamaste blog posts!

6 QUESTIONS FOR REVIEWING YOUR 2016

WHAT WERE THE TOP 5 MOMENTS OF 2016?

What majorly delighted & thrilled you? When did you feel infinite? What were your "full circle" moments?

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT TODAY FROM WHO YOU WERE NYE 2015?

How did you do your hair? How did you walk? What were you wearing & who were you meeting up with? What was on your mind? What were you hoping for & what were you ready to pitch out of your life?

WHAT IS OVER?

Like, done. Finally. Make a list. Set the list on fire. Bury it. Close your eyes, bless it, & release it with a sigh.

DID YOU REMEMBER TO CELEBRATE?

What were your wins? If you’ve been racing through 2016, tonight’s the night to give your moments their due.

WHAT EXPANDED YOUR AWARENESS?

What blew your mind? Mentally list the movies, Netflix binges, & books that opened up a whole new world for you. What were your favorites conversations? With who? What did you learn about yourself & about other people? What expectations were exceeded & when were you majorly, offensively disappointed? Where did you stretch yourself?

WHAT WERE YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN 2016?

Patience. Due diligence. Taking heart or breaking up.  What events, tasks, projects, or conflicts strengthened your core? Did you grow upwards or end up in the weeds? Were you proud or disappointed by your response?

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

I just learned about Desire Mapping & I can already tell: 2017 is going to be my best year EVER. This is the question I want you to ask yourself: How Do You Want It All To Feel?

This came right when I needed it most: Love The Egg You’re In. (This Is Not A Sermon On Patience. But…) Spooky.

Regina Anaejionu is the blog whisperer! Check out her FREE workshop, Blog Like A Mag! She shows you exactly how to approach your blog design / content strategy as if you were publishing a classy magazine for the very best type of reader... yourself.

Loved this lesson from FLB’s acupuncturist: Remember, you are safe.

A Course In Miracles... to trance music??! (High fiving a million angels right now.)

Magic is our heritage. I craved hearing this kind of conversation, & really, Tami Simon asks the best Qs: Insights At The Edge podcast interview with Damien Nichols, a magician who developed his craft during 18 years in prison after being wrongly accused of murdering 3 8-year-old boys.

I got to the point where I would not even say that word [Magic], because I realized on one end of the spectrum, people hear you say it and they just think you're a flake or a weirdo. On the other end of the spectrum they think you're downright dangerous. When I started doing is substituting words what meant basically the same thing but didn't have all the same automatic negative connotations. For example I would do classes and I would say, what I was teaching is hermetic Reiki. When people hear Reiki, they don't have the same preconceived ideas or jolt of fear that they receive when they ever they magick, even though you're doing the exact same techniques, you're just coming at them from a Western concept and philosophy versus an Eastern one.

Then [one day]... [my friend] came to me and we spent all day long sitting in my office, talking. [W]hen she left that office, what she had said to me was, "You've got to reclaim what you love and what you are. You can't let these people take that from you. They can't try to kill you for this anymore." From that day on I came out.

This year, I discovered some totally bewitching, savvy babes who are devoted to reclaiming femme beauty & sexuality for what it is: power without pretense. I totally loved Daniel’s interviews with Kim Anami, The Well-Fucked Woman, & Nadine Artemis, Your Skin, An Owner’s Manuel. (Honestly, download ALL of the ReWild Podcast interviews with these ladies—your paradigm about self-loving personal care will be smashed to smithereens.)

BEST NETFLIX

I'm very serious about #Netflixandchill.

That's changing in 2017, but I did enjoy some really great binges.

Early this summer, I binged (totally binged—like, catatonic in the dark, slobber running down my chin) on American Horror Story. (Don’t be jels, but my boo? Long lost twin of Evan Peters... If he were mid-morphing into Jim Morrison. That’s the kind of white boy I’m into.)

And I am OBSESSED with Orange Is The New Black--Natasha Lyonne has been my girl since Slums Of Beverly Hills, how did I NOT KNOW ABOUT HER NETFLIX DEBUT?

I’m always about 4 years too late to pick up on a good thing. But I’m here now, so if you’re want to trash talk AHS ssn. 6 or ugly cry with me over that final scene of #OITNB ssn. 4 (Omg, WASHINGTON! I can’t even…), hit me up on Twitter

A FEW VERY SPECIAL TRUE-LIFE MOMENTS IN 2016:

My son learning his first phrases (Thank You, Uh Oh, Are You Ok, & Einstein), sipping lavender-flavored almond milk lattes @ Foolish Things in Tulsa, scoring Lucky Dip Goodie Bags from BohoMoon (obsessed with my Eye of Horus pendant!) & my very own deck of The Starchild Tarot, & slamming Fireball whiskeys at the Warren Theater with my brother-in-law just before we went to see Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them. (When it comes to HP, that's how we roll.)

WHAT ARE THE BLOG POSTS I'M REALLY PROUD OF?

For the Goddess Girls, I loved showing you how to find your Patron Goddess & create create a Goddess altar. If you've felt like you've been missing something crucial in your life, I suggest you visit those posts. I show you how to build sacred space into your life & design rituals that will boost the femme quotient in your life.

I also loved learning all about my moon sign, because it gave me clarity (like, with fireworks in the background & everything) about how I've been sabotaging myself--in both my magic practice & in very basic life choices. Moon magic has surged in popularity, so if you're ready to dabble, check out my post about creating your own yummy new moon ritual. (Ritual Roadmap included!)

I was so happy connecting with other cosmic babes about their starseed status & helping them dig deeper into cosmic witchcraft. I'm drafting a bigger project that really lays out what I've learned, so if you have insights, send me a Tweet!

WHAT DID I MISS IN 2016?

In 2016, I should've taken more risks. I should have reversed the family decision that I'd shelve my own plans & stay at home with the baby. That didn't work for me. Honestly, it didn't work for my boo, either.

In 2017, I'm devoting myself to moxie. In a few years, I'll probably be glad for the coziness of this year. But today, I'm stoking the fire.

I hope that A'ing the Qs above help you find your own 2016 clarity. Go forth & commemorate 2016 with a quote, a snapshot, or a Pinterest board. Blow it a kiss. Tie it off with a bow.

And tonight, no matter how late you drag yourself home, stay up just a few extra minutes. Brush your teeth. Schedule reminders to yourself for the morning. Throw on your comfy new jammie pants from Christmas, so you wake up smiling. (Go ahead & sleep in the confetti.)

Tomorrow is 2017. Brand, sparkling new.

Remember: @@Yesterday's eyeliner can be today's smokey eye if you believe in yourself.@@

Happy New Year!
